Bokeid Steady In NCAA Regional Debut

NORMAN, Okla. – UNCW freshman Rune Bokeid recorded a pair of birdies and finished with an even-par 72 in his NCAA regional debut on Monday in the Norman Regional at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Course.

The Seahawks enter the second round in 12th place overall while fifth-ranked Texas Tech leads the 14-team field at 10-under. Ninth-ranked Oklahoma sits in second, one stroke behind the Red Raiders. Alabama, Duke and Colorado round out the top five, in order.

Bokeid played steady golf all afternoon, posting 14 pars, two bogeys and a pair of birdies coming on the fifth and 12th holes.

The Seahawks begin the second round at 10:25 a.m. EST on Hole 10. They will be paired with Princeton and Wake Forest, who are tied for ninth and 11th place, respectively.
