Isley Leads UNCW At CAA Championship Tuneup

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – UNCW junior Walker Isley fashioned a five-under-par 70-67=137 through 36 holes to lead the Seahawks on Monday at the Lewis Chitengwa Memorial at the Birdwood Golf Course.

Seventh-ranked Florida State owns a 12-stroke lead over host #21 Virginia. The Seahawks enter the final round tied with St. Mary's for 11th at nine-over-par.

Northwestern David Nyfjall is tied with Luke Clanton of Florida State for the medalist lead at eight-under.

Isley opened the day with a one-under-par 70. Through 10 holes, he was two-over, but he recorded three birdies to get him under par. In the second round, he added four more birdies to his credit and finished four-under and jumped from 24th to seventh.

The third and final round tees off on Tuesday at 9:20 a.m. on hole 10 for the Seahawks, who will be paired with Loyola (Md.) and St. Mary's (Calif.).
