Khine, Levy Tie for Third at 'Ewa Beach

ʻEWA BEACH, Hawaii – UNCW's Phu Khine and Victoria Levy finished tied for third place as the Seahawks concluded the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in second place at the Hoakalei Country Club on Tuesday.

The Seahawks (294-298-297=889) finished seven strokes behind champion Sacramento State while Long Beach State's Angelina Kim bested teammate Hannah Ko in a two-hole playoff for the individual title.

"I am pleased with the way we competed throughout the tournament, especially in the windy conditions," said UNCW Head Coach Cindy Ho. "We put ourselves in a position to compete for the title. Congratulations to Sacramento State on a strong finishing round. I'm proud of Phu and Victoria on their third-9place finishes, one back of the champions and Deb on her top-10 finish."

Redshirt sophomore Deborah Spair closed out UNCW's second spring tournament with a share of 10th place after a one-over par 73 score in the third round.

The second-place finish matches the best result for the Seahawks this season after being the runner-up in the Golfweek Fall Challenge in mid-September.

UNCW will have a quick turnaround following its debut event in the Aloha State when the Seahawks host the River Landing Classic from Mar. 13-14 in Wallace, N.C.
