UNCW Rallies For Top-10 Finish

OPELIKA, Ala. – Seventh-ranked Auburn coasted to a win at the Tiger Invitational presented by Jason Dufner on Tuesday, topping runner-up Troy by 31 strokes at the Grand National Lake Course.

Auburn's Carson Bacha, ranked 85th nationally, carded a tournament-low round of 66 on Tuesday to earn medalist honors by two strokes over Max Sturdza of Florida Atlantic.

The Seahawks fashioned their best round of the tournament on Tuesday, finishing eight-under for the day and rising into a tie for eighth with Toledo after opening the day in 15th place.

Leading the charge for UNCW in the final round were Sander Akeren (68) and Walker Isley (69) while Patrick Sparks was two-under for the round and finished tied for 10th at five-under for the tournament.

Keying Sparks' tournament scoring was his play on par 4s, shooting three-under and recording a 3.90 stroke average on those holes.

The Seahawks host the Seahawk Invitational on Mar. 26-27 at the Country Club at Landfall.
