Women's Golf Leads Thompson Invitational

ʻEWA BEACH, Hawaii – The UNCW women's golf team is perched atop the 11-team field through the second round of the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational at the Hoakalei Country Club on Monday.
 
The Seahawks (294-298=592) sit in first place, one stroke ahead of Long Beach State. UNCW is paced by graduate student Phu Khine and sophomore Victoria Levy, who each hold a share of second with 146 36-hole scores.
 
In total, the Seahawks have six golfers currently in the top 25, including individual player Jordan Salisbury (T-21st, 75-77=152), after the tournament's first day.
 
UNCW's 20 birdies are tied for the most in the field while redshirt sophomore Deborah Spair authored her first career Eagle on the no. 2 hole in the first round.
 
UNCW concludes the two-day event in the Aloha State on Tuesday morning with a final round beginning at 7:30 a.m. local time.
