WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Host UNCW will be joined by 10 visiting teams in the 23rd annual River Landing Classic on Monday and Tuesday at the River Landing Golf Course in Wallace, N.C.
The Seahawks are accompanied by Boston University, East Tennessee State, Elon, High Point, James Madison, Marshall, North Carolina A&T, Princeton, Queens and UNC Greensboro in the two-day, 54-hole event.
The field will compete in a par-72, 6,026 layout surrounded by scenic lakes, lush woodlands and the peaceful Cape Fear River that makes the River Course an immersive natural environment.
"We're excited to host our River Landing Classic once again on the challenging River Course," said UNCW Head Coach Cindy Ho. "We look forward to welcoming Princeton back to the event after many years as well as many traditional teams who compete annually here. It should be a great competition with many teams having strong performances to date.Â
We are very appreciative to the River Landing membership and staff for hosting and welcoming all the teams."
UNCW is coming off a second-place finish at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational last week in 'Ewa Beach, Hawaii. The Seahawks had three top-10 finishes with Phu Khine and Victoria Levy tying for third and Deborah Spair earning a share of 10th place.
Khine and Levy captured Colonial Athletic Association Women's Co-Golfer of the Week for their efforts. It marked the second weekly honor of Levy's season.
UNCW next prepares for its final tournament before the CAA Championships with the Clemson Tiger Invitational in Sunset, S.C. from Mar. 24-26.
