WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNCW women's golf team joins eight other teams in search of a Coastal Athletic Association crown in the 2026 CAA Championships at The Reserve Club at St. James Plantation in nearby Southport, N.C., this weekend.
The three-day tournament will be contested on the course's par-72, 5,995 layout featuring wooded wetlands, multi-level green complexes, and split fairways less than a mile from the Atlantic Ocean.
A round will be played each day beginning on Friday, Apr. 17, featuring an 8:30 a.m. start the first two days before concluding with the third round on Sunday, Apr. 19, at 8 a.m. Live results from the conference championship will be available on Clippd each day.
UNCW's Hannah Altman enters as the reigning Coastal Athletic Association Individual Champion after soaring to the solo title last season and an automatic berth to the NCAA Charlottesville Regional.
The Seahawks (No. 59) enter the weekend as the second highest-ranked league team in the latest Clippd rankings, one spot behind CAA defending team champion Charleston (No. 58).
The CAA Championships is no stranger to St. James, which hosted the event eight times in nine years from 2012 to 2019 before returning in 2022. The site was also the home of the Seahawks' last two team championships (2012, 2019).
Veteran Head Coach Cindy Ho's team finished second at St. James last season in the CAA Championships,
UNCW has won five CAA crowns since 2003, tied for the most by a school with former league member James Madison. The Seahawks and Dukes are even with former conference member Georgia State for the most individual champions at five each.
The winner of the team and the individual tournament will receive the CAA's automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship that tees off in May.
