Women's Basketball Preview: Charleston

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNCW women's basketball team continues play with the annual Play4Kay game vs. Charleston at 7 p.m. on Friday at Trask Coliseum.

The Colonial Athletic Association clash between the Seahawks (4-21, 1-13 CAA) and Cougars (11-14, 6-9 CAA) in a rematch of the rivals' overtime thriller on Feb. 3 in Charleston.

UNCW controlled most of regulation, but Charleston overcame a double-digit deficit to tie the game at the end of the fourth quarter and went on to win 71-63 in the extra period.

Graduate guard Carrie Gross scored 22 points vs. the Cougars earlier this month and has contributed over 15 markers in five of her last six games.

Charleston had three players reach double figures against the Seahawks, including junior guard Jalia Roberts' double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds.

The Cougars have been led by senior guard Jada Logan, the conference's second-leading scorer at 18.3 ppg. The USC Upstate transfer has brought her well-balanced game to Charleston this year with averages of 7.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists as the top option.

The Seahawks next embark on their final road swing of the season on Sunday with a visit to play second-place North Carolina A&T. Tip-off from the Corbett Center in Greensboro, N.C. is at 2 p.m.
