Swimming & Diving Preview: CAA Championships

HAMPTON, Va. – UNCW visits the Hampton Roads area in southeastern Virginia this week when it competes in the Colonial Athletic Association Championship beginning on Wednesday at the Hampton Aqua Plex.

The Seahawk men enter the championship looking to defend their conference title from a year ago while the women look to improve on their second-place finish last year.

The championship will be contested on Wednesday through Saturday and will consist of preliminary and championship sessions each day.

Returning to defend their individual titles for the Seahawks are Nic Newis (Diving), Sam O'Brien (500, 1650 Free), Henderson Louviere (200 IM, 100 Fly) and Aidan Duffy (400 IM) on the men's side and on the women's side Brooke Knisely (500, 1650 Free), Courtney Klausen (Diving) and Katie Knorr (400 IM).

In relays, the Seahawk men won three of the four championship relay races.

With the additions of Monmouth and Stony Brook to the conference this year, the women's field remains at eight schools while the men grow to six.

All-session tickets will be on sale at the door for $95. Individual sessions are $15 for adults and $7 for youth. Please note that cash will NOT be accepted for any onsite ticket or merchandise sales, so we ask that you plan accordingly.
