HUNTINGTON, W. Va. – UNCW's Trazarien White led all scorers with 27 points as the Seahawks pushed their winning streak to four with a 78-69 win over Marshall on Thursday in men's basketball action at the Cam Henderson Center.

The Seahawks raised their record to 9-2 with their fifth road win of the season. The Herd, meanwhile, dropped to 5-8 and saw its modest two-game winning streak halted.

White matched his career-high for points set earlier this season in UNCW's win at nationally-ranked Kentucky. He finished 7-of-13 from the floor, including 2-for-2 from three-point range, and finished 11-for-14 from the free throw line.

Joining White in double figures were Shykeim Phillips with 16, Maleeck Harden-Hayes had 12 and KJ Jenkins finished with 10.

Obina Anochili-Killen had 14 points, a game-high six assists and eight rebounds for the Thundering Herd. Kamdyn Curfman added a team-leading 15 points.

Marshall narrowed UNCW's lead to two points, 49-47, with 12:21 remaining, but a pair of free throws by White, a jumper by Phillips and a three-pointer from Jenkins gave UNCW a 56-47 and 11:26 left.

White's 12 first-half points helped the Seahawks carry a 40-31 lead into halftime.

The Seahawks wrap up 2023 on Dec. 30 at Arkansas.
