Seahawks visit Statesboro on Saturday

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW and Georgia Southern meet for the first time since 1988 when the Seahawks visit Hanner Fieldhouse on Saturday for a 3 p.m. start.

The Seahawks (7-2) carry a modest two-game winning streak into the non-conference tilt following a 119-50 win over Montreat last weekend at Trask Coliseum. UNCW landed five players in double-figure scoring led by Trazarien White's game-high 21 points. In the backcourt, Shykeim Phillips and Shemar Rathan-Mayes both had seven assists and three steals and did not commit a turnover.

Georgia Southern, the second of three Sun Belt Conference schools the Seahawks play this season, fell at 12th-ranked Tennessee earlier this week, 74-56. The Eagles are playing their second home game of the season under the direction of first-year head coach Charley Henry.

The game will be streamed on ESPN+ while Mike Vaccaro brings you the action locally in Wilmington on 95.9 The Breeze and the web at 959thebreeze.com.

UNCW continues the five-game road stretch on Dec. 21 at Marshall.

Earlier this week, single-game tickets for the College of Charleston (Jan. 20) and Elon (Feb. 17) went on sale. Single game tickets for the rest of the season can be purchased here.
