King Selected for NCAA Leadership Forum

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW sophomore guard McCall King will represent the Coastal Athletic Association at the 2024 NCAA Division I Student-Athlete Leadership Forum to be held April 11-14, 2024, in Bethesda, Md.

The NCAA Leadership Forum equips attendees with leadership skills and strives to refine the understanding of the relationship among personal values, core beliefs and behavioral styles. Over 5,000 student-athletes have gained valuable experiences since its creation in 1997.

King, a Business major, compiled a 3.784 GPA as a freshman. The Easley, S.C., native earned CAA Commissioner's Honor Roll and the UNCW Dean's List accolades for her academic achievements.

She is also a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee member and has participated in community service initiatives such as Toys 4 Tots and the Diaper Bank.

"Advocating for women's college athletics is something I'm passionate about," said King. "I enjoy learning about current issues in our sports community and taking a stance on these problems while providing support where I'm able.

"I believe attending the NCAA Forum will be an opportunity for me to encourage my teammates and others involved in athletics to join me in support of women's basketball and its athletes. I welcome the opportunity to engage with players from different programs, backgrounds and perspectives to expand my knowledge and better this game that I love."

Participants are able to learn and grow alongside newly forged connections who often remain valuable for decades to come.
