UNCW Falls In Five As UD Rallies

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Delaware overcame a 2-0 deficit to sweep the final three sets to knockoff UNCW in five sets (22-25, 16-25, 25-17, 25-18, 15-9) on Saturday in Coastal Athletic Association volleyball action at Hanover Hall.

The Blue Hens improved to 17-4 overall and 10-3 in the league with their eighth straight victory.

Lani Mason finished with a match-high of 17 kills for the Hens, who struggled offensively in the first two sets, hitting .049. UD rallied over the final three sets to hit .295.

Katie Lanz paced the Seahawks with 11 kills and chalked up 10 digs for a double-double.

The series continues Sunday with a 2 p.m. start.
