Men's Swimming Rolls Past Tribe

Men stay perfect at 3-0, while the women slipped to 1-2

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – UNCW's Jacob Duracinsky, Dylan Citta and William Carrico won two events apiece as UNCW's men's program rolled past William & Mary, 176.5-85.5, in swimming and diving action on Saturday at the Bee McLeod Recreation Center. William & Mary won the women's meet, 167-95.

The Seahawks stayed perfect on the season with their third consecutive win while the women dipped to 1-2. The Tribe, meanwhile, is 2-0 and 1-1 on the season in women's and men's, respectively.

Duracinsky topped the field in both the 100 and 200 Freestyle while Citta did the same in the 100 and 200 Breaststrokes. Carrico, a freshman, took first in the 500 Freestyle and then won the 200 IM later in the meet.

Emily Waite was a multi-event winner for the Seahawks in the 50 and 200 Freestrokes. Rachel Jones added a win in the 200 Backstroke.

In diving on Saturday, the Seahawk women traveled to East Carolina where Tatum Church posted UNCW's top finish on the day. Church finished third on the 1-meter board with a score of 262.13 points. On the 3-meter, Hunter Smith was fourth with 245.70 points.

The Seahawks host North Carolina on Oct. 20 at 4 p.m.
