Swimming & Diving Sweeps Davidson

DAVIDSON, N.C. – UNCW rolled past host Davidson behind a combined 20 event wins in swimming and diving action on Saturday at Cannon Pool.

UNCW improved to 4-5 on the women's side while the men ran their record to 2-6.

Sarah Olson and Gil Shaw both won two events apiece. Olson won the 100 and 200 Freestyles while Shaw did the same in the Breaststroke events. Olson also swam on the winning 200 Medley and 200 Free Relays.

Aidan Duffy and Jacob Duracinsky added two wins each for the Seahawk men. Duffy earned first-place finishes in the 200 Breaststroke and the 200 IM. Duracinsky, the reigning Colonial Athletic Association Swimmer of the Week, swept first-place honors in the 100 and 200 Freestyles.

In diving, Courtney Klausen claimed both boards with scores of 305.70 and 310.65 points in the one and three-meter dives, respectively.

UNCW also swept all four relays on the afternoon.

The Seahawks visit nationally-ranked NC State next on Jan. 27.
