Swimming & Diving Preview: Army West Point

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW opens its swimming and diving season on Saturday when it hosts Army West Point at 11 a.m. at the David B. Allen Natatorium.

For the Seahawks, it will be the first of six home dates in the fall semester which include Tennessee, William & Mary, Campbell women, Georgia Tech, North Carolina and Duke. Admission to all meets is free and the meets are scheduled to be streamed on FloSports.

UNCW's men's program enters the season as defending Colonial Athletic Association champions while the women, who finished second a year ago, look to win its first conference title since 2010.

Brooke Knisely, a junior, became UNCW's sixth swimmer all-time to qualify and compete at the NCAA Championship last spring. Knisely captured both the 500 and 1650 Free events at the CAA Championships and competed in both events at the NCAA Championships.

Katie Knorr returns for her sophomore season after winning the 400 IM as a freshman.

On the board, UNCW returns four-time conference champion, Courtney Klausen. Last spring Klausen won both diving events for the first time in her career. She enters the season as the CAA's three-time reigning champion on the 1-meter.
