Cross Country Slate Set For Seahawks

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Five in-season races across the Carolinas and the 2022 Colonial Athletic Association Championships in Newark, Del., are on the docket for the UNCW cross country teams when the season begins in early September.
 
The schedule is highlighted by the 2nd Annual UNCW Beach Blast at Olson Park on Friday, Sept. 9, 2022. The Seahawks will be joined by Chowan, Mount Olive and N.C. Central in the late evening competition. The women kick off the race in a 5K at 7:30 p.m., with the men covering the same distance at 8 pm.
 
The Seahawk harriers open the year the previous week by competing in Elon's Friday Night Lights on Sept. 2, 2022. The women will run a 4K race at 8:15 p.m., followed by the men tackling a 6K course at 8:45 p.m.
 
UNCW also travels to Boone, N.C. (Firetower Project), Conway, S.C. (Chanticleer Challenge) and Greenville, N.C. (Pirate Invitational) leading up to the conference meet on Oct. 28 in Newark.
