Isley Posts First Top-Five Finish At Auburn

Seahawks take fifth, a season best

OPELIKA, Ala. – UNCW sophomore Walker Isley posted his first career top-five finish on Monday at the Tiger Invitational presented by Jason Dufner at the Grand National Course in Opelika, Ala.

The Seahawks finished fifth at six-over for the tournament and seven strokes behind Southern Miss for fourth place.

Isley, who finished fifth, closed out his career-best performance with a career-low tying 69 in the third and final round on Monday. His three-round total of 211 was also a career-low score. Isley bolstered his career-low tournament finishing three-under on par 4's, posting 34 pars and 13 birdies.

Red-shirt junior Lansdon Robbins finished tied for 20th at one-over.

Florida Gulf Coast claimed the team championship by 19 strokes over 19th-ranked Auburn. The Eagles finished 32 strokes under par for the tournament. Auburn's B team finished third.

FGCU's Frankie Capan III earned medalist honors, finishing 19-under-par and fashioning an eight-stroke victory. After opening the tournament with a three-under 69, Capan carded back-to-back scores of 64.

The Seahawks return to action this weekend in Pinehurst, N.C., when they compete in the Forest Creek Collegiate, hosted by Richmond.
