Elon Slugs Its Way Past UNCW

Phoenix hit .348 on the afternoon while UNCW comes up short

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Elon's Leah Daniels had 14 kills and a .355 hitting average as the Phoenix swept UNCW (25-14, 25-19, 25-21) on Saturday in Colonial Athletic Association volleyball action at Hanover Hall.

The Phoenix pushed its record to 11-12 on the season and 8-5 in the conference while the Seahawks dropped to 4-18 and 2-11.

Kirsten Badowski led UNCW with eight kills and a .583 hitting average while Katie Lanz added five kills for the Seahawks. No one else had more than three.

Sydney Love added nine kills for Elon while Clare Richey had six kills and four total blocks.

The series concludes on Sunday with a 2 p.m. start at Hanover Hall.
