San Jose State, Carlbom Lead Tradition Through Two Rounds

WILMINGTON, N.C. – San Jose State junior Louisa Carlbom and the ninth-ranked Spartans continued their stellar play at the Landfall Tradition to highlight the second round of play on Saturday at the Country Club of Landfall.

San Jose State built a four-stroke lead in the second round on second-ranked Wake Forest. Led by Louisa Carlbom at two-under for the round, the Spartans carded a four-under-par 284.

Carlbom opened the round tied for third but moved into the lead on the strength of six birdies with four coming on the front nine. She enters the final round on Sunday with a one-stroke lead over Vania Simont of NC State, Justine Fournand of South Carolina and Florida State's Charlotte Heath.

UNCW dropped back to 16th in the 18-team field after fashioning a second-round total of 306.

Victoria Levy is tied for 41st at three-over and leads the UNCW lineup.
