Knisely Wins Three Events Against Duke

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW standout junior Brooke Knisely won three on Saturday, but the Seahawks came up short in both dual meets with losses to visiting Duke on Senior Day at the Allen Natatorium.

With the two losses on Saturday, the Seahawk women saw their record fall to 3-4 while the men moved to 1-5. The Blue Devils moved to 2-0 and 1-1 on the women's and men's seasons, respectively.

Knisely won the 1000 (10:13.55) and 500 (4:57.23) Freestyles and earned her first win of the season in the 400 IM, posting a time of 4:30.89.

Joining Knisely with a win in the men's 1000 Free was sophomore Sam O'Brien (9:32.18), who captured the race by 0.07 seconds over Duke's Brendan Driscoll.

In the men's 100 Free, UNCW's Jacob Duracinsky clocked in with a winning time of 45.09.

Rounding out UNCW's individual winners was Silas Crosby in the 400 IM. Crosby came up short of winning the 500 Free earlier in the meet when he was edged by Duke's Matt Knox by 0.11 seconds.

The Seahawks compete in their final meet of the semester when they visit Columbia, S.C., for the Gamecock Invitational on Nov. 16-18.
