Swimming & Diving Programs Ranked top-30 In Nation

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Both UNCW swimming and diving programs have achieved their highest national rankings in program history with the men at 26th and the women 27th in CollegeSwimming.com's most recent report.

"This is historic for our program," said third-year Head Coach Bobby Guntoro. "We have not had both programs ranked this high at the same time in any poll or rankings report."

The women's program is the highest-ranked non-football school while the men are second behind Queens. At the mid-major level, the Seahawk women are second behind Akron while the men are fourth behind Army, Navy and Southern Methodist.

"This is an important step for our program. It recognizes the hard work our past and current student-athletes have put in during my three years as head coach. It showcases to prospective student-athletes that we have a great future at UNCW."

UNCW has competed against a strong early-season schedule of opponents including Army West Point (12th men/ 33rd women), Tennessee (11/25) and Georgia Tech (20/23). With two home meets remaining in the fall semester, the Seahawks will compete against North Carolina (21/17) and Duke.

The Seahawks host North Carolina at 4 p.m. on Oct. 21, when they return to the Allen Natatorium.
