TAMPA, Florida – UNCW graduate student forward
Nicolas Molina has been named USL League Two's Most Valuable Player for the 2021 season.
The MVP award is presented to one Path2Pro player identified as the most skilled on the field during the season by USL League Two clubs.
Molina, who also received USL League Two's Golden Boot Award, led West Virginia United to a third place finish in the South Atlantic Division after scoring a league-best and team-record 16 goals in 13 games. The Buenos Aires, Argentina, native registered six multi-goal games, including a four-goal performance in a 6-1 victory against Wake FC on July 3.
"Nico was first class from my first conversation with him," West Virginia United Coach
Daniel Smee said. "He's a quality young man as well as a top quality soccer player. I have no doubt this past season was just the beginning for him."
Prior to joining UNCW, Molina played two seasons at St. Francis Brooklyn and scored five goals with four assists while starting 19-of-25 games.
