Men's Swimming Preview: CAA Championships

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. – A busy week for the UNCW swimming and diving programs continues Wednesday with the beginning of the Colonial Athletic Association men's championship at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center.

Thursday's preliminaries begin at 12:10 p.m. and the day's events include the 500 Freestyle, 200 IM, 50 Freestyle, 200 Freestyle Relay and the 400 Medley Relay.

The Seahawks enter the swimming portion of the meet with a pair of gold medals to their credit as sophomore Kolbein Bjugan defended his titles in the 1 and 3-meter boards earlier in the week.

Gianmichel D'Alessandro enters the championship as the two-time defending champion in the 100 Breaststroke, which will be featured on Friday.

The Seahawks finished second at the 2020 championships.

All six sessions of the swimming championship will be streamed on FloSports.tv.
