WALLACE, North Carolina – Sophomore Mallory Fobes posted her first career top-10 finish to lead UNCW to a sixth place finish at the River Landing Classic at the River Landing Golf Course on Tuesday afternoon.
 
The Seahawks, who stood second when play was suspended due to darkness on Monday, finished with an 866 team score (287-290-289). East Carolina won the team title after carding a 15-under-par team score (283-282-284) to break the tournament 54-hole record, which was previously held by Campbell in 2018.
 
Fobes, who earned a share of sixth place, authored a 3-under-par 69 in the second round before closing the tournament with a 5-over-par 77. The East Bend, N.C., native ranked fourth in the field with 15 birdies, including seven in the opening round on Monday.
 
Senior Caroline Cahill earned a share of 21st place with a 3-over-par 219 (72-73-74), while senior Keri Kenkel followed in a tie for 29th place at 4-over-par.
 
Coach Cindy Ho Says: "It was a great tournament and we can't thank River Landing and its membership enough for hosting us. The play was excellent with a lot of low scoring. Congratulations to East Carolina on its team win and impressive performance. We had three of our best team scores this year, so I am really proud of how the players competed this week.
 
"Everyone contributed over the course of the event. It was great to see all of the players playing much more consistently. Mallory had a great tournament leading the team with her low personal round of 66 [on Monday] and then, backing it up with a 69 in the second round. She didn't finish the way she wanted in the last nine holes, but she gain valuable experience from being in a position to win."
