Phu Khine carded a 2-over-par 74 to lead UNCW during the opening round of the Clemson Invitational at The Reserve at Lake Keowee on Friday afternoon.
Led by Khine, the Seahawks fashioned a 304 team score to end the first round in 14th place. Kent State took the early lead after authoring a 4-under-par 284, including a pair of under-par results from Caley McGinty and Chloe Salort.
Khine completed the first round in a tie for 24th place while sophomore
Mallory Fobes stands in a tie for 33rd place at 3-over-par. Senior
Rachael Mast holds a share of 43rd place after firing a 4-over-par 76.
Up Next: Due to forecasted weather on Sunday, the teams will attempt to complete the final 27 holes on Saturday with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
