UNCW Diving Makes Season Debut

DURHAM, N.C. – Sophomores Courtney Klausen and Kolbein Bjugan both had strong performances as UNCW diving made its season debut at Duke on Saturday.

"Today was a great experience for our divers," said UNCW diving coach Beau Bunn. "The opportunity to travel and have a competition against a very good Duke team will benefit us in the long run.

Klausen finished third in the 1-meter and fourth in the 3-meter board and Bjugan did likewise, but on the men's side.

"The freshmen learned a lot about themselves and the sophomore became better leaders. This really sets us up well for our competition at Davidson."

Freshmen Caleb Brantley made his collegiate debut for the UNCW men while Hunter Smith and Morgan Bakalar did so for the women.

The Seahawks next visit Davidson on Feb. 20 for an 11 a.m. start.
