EATONTON, Ga. – Sophomore
Mallory Fobes carded a 3-over-par 75 as UNCW opened the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational in 11th place after the first round at Great Water Golf Course on Friday afternoon.
The Seahawks, who are playing their second tournament of the season, posted a 311 team score in the opening round. Host Mercer ended play with a one-stroke lead over Old Dominion with a 9-over-par team score.
Fobes closed out the first round in a share of 23rd place while junior
Phu Khine is tied for 37th place at 6-over-par. Seniors
Caroline Cahill and
Keri Kenkel are 7-over-par after the opening round, which is good for a tie for 46th place.
Senior
Rachael Mast stands 53rd in the field after firing an 8-over-par 80.
