Swimming & Diving Meet Preview: CAA Pod Meet

The Seahawks welcome back their Alumni this weekend

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW hosts Delaware, James Madison and William & Mary this weekend in a Colonial Athletic Association pod meet at the Seahawk Natatorium beginning on Saturday.

The meet starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday with the 200 Free Relay. All diving events will be held between noon and 3 p.m. The day's final session of swimming kicks off at 4:30 p.m. with the 200 Medley Relay. The pod schedule for Sunday begins at 10 a.m. with the 500 Free.

The Seahawks competed last weekend in a tri-meet host by Duke. UNCW dropped two meets on the women's side while the men knocked off Boston College and fell to the Blue Devils.

UNCW freshmen Sam O'Brien and Katie Knorr led a Seahawk sweep of the CAA swimming honors from last weekend.

O'Brien finished first in the 1000 and second in the 500 Free events. His time in the 1000 (9:23.29) is the top time in the conference by nearly nine seconds and the 500 time of 4:34.18 also leads the conference.

Knorr won the 400 IM with a conference-best time of 4:27.52, nearly six seconds better than the second-best time. She also finished third in the 200 Back (2:03.20) with the third-fastest time in the CAA this season.

This weekend's meet will conclude the fall schedule for the Seahawks swimmers. The divers, meanwhile, will compete at the Wolfpack Invite on Nov. 19-21.
