WILMINGTON, North Carolina - Senior cross country and track and field standout Zeke Shore of UNCW will be one of two student-athletes from the conference representing the Colonial Athletic Association at next month's 2021 NCAA Division I Student-Athlete Leadership Forum in Houston.
Shore, from Raleigh, N.C., will join James Madison senior golfer Carly Lyvers and other selected student-athletes from around the country at the forum on Nov. 18-21, 2021.
An exercise science major, Shore is a three-time CAA Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient in cross country and track and field and volunteered at the U.S. Olympic Trials last summer. He has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, the Ronald McDonald House and helped a local church minister to the area's homeless population.
The forum is designed to give the student-athletes an opportunity to sharpen their leadership skills and prepare them for future development.
Two student-athletes from each NCAA Division I conference have been chosen to attend the event of student-athletes and administrators. Participants are assigned to a team that will engage in discussions on leadership and its components, gain insight from diverse perspectives, learn about the workings of the NCAA, hear from resonant keynote speakers, and take part in a community service project.
