Five Facts to Know: William & Mary

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Two long-time rivals renew acquaintances on Thursday, Oct. 7, when UNCW and William & Mary meet for a 7 p.m. Colonial Athletic Association women's soccer contest at Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field.

Now 6-1-1 overall and 2-0-0 in the CAA, UNCW carries a seven-game unbeaten streak into Thursday night's contest after posting a 2-0 road victory over Northeastern on Sunday. Junior forward Jordan Faveri gave the Seahawks an early 1-0 lead before freshman defender Sophie Trepohl added an insurance marker late in the second half.
 
Faveri, the Seahawks' leading scorer with 14 points, has been involved in 9 of the Seahawks' 14 goals this season and is tied for the CAA lead with four game-winning goals. Freshman goalkeeper Kaylie Bierman enters Thursday's action as the CAA leader with an .878 save percentage, while her 0.61 goals against average stands second in the loop.
 
William & Mary, 3-6-0 overall on the season, has split its first two league fixtures after defeating Charleston by a 1-0 count before a 3-0 setback on Sunday at Towson. Seven of the Tribe's nine games this season have been decided by a one-goal margin, including all three victories.  
 
Junior forward/midfielder Kayleigh Shackford paces the Tribe with two goals, while three other players have recorded a goal. Led by sophomore Grace Lemley, the Tribe has used three different goalkeepers this season.

Just the FactsThursday's game marks the 31st meeting between the Seahawks and the Tribe. William & Mary leads the series, 24-5-1, but the Seahawks are 4-1-1 in the last six encounters.
