HIGH POINT, N.C. – Kayla Adams, Reese Bodas and Hailey Longwell scored their first goals as Seahawks to lead UNCW women's soccer to a 3-0 win against High Point at Vert Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
UNCW posted its second straight clean sheet to improve to 4-2-1 overall, while High Point dropped to 0-5-2. The Seahawks remain unbeaten on the road in 2025, improving to 3-0-1 in away matches.
The Seahawks also matched their best start on the road since the 2021 season, the year they won the Coastal Athletic Association regular season title.
In the 31st minute, sophomore midfielder and High Point native Ava Vaughan was fouled just outside the top of the penalty area, resulting in a free kick for the Seahawks.
Adams, a graduate student forward, placed the free kick in the top left corner for the 11th goal of her collegiate career to put UNCW in front.
Longwell, a redshirt sophomore forward, provided insurance with a goal in the 57th minute, finding the back of the net for the seventh time in her career on an assist from senior forward Ayanna Parker and sophomore defender Ava Chuderewicz.
In the 66th minute, Bodas, a senior midfielder, tallied the second goal of her career to increase the Seahawks' lead to three, scoring on an assist from sophomore midfielder Viktoria Hankova.
Rachel Fry, a junior defender, made a crucial clearance on the Seahawks' goalline in the 41st minute. In the 44th minute, Fry followed with a key interception in the penalty area to preserve the lead for UNCW.
Redshirt junior goalkeeper Morgan Hobbs played the opening 45 minutes and earned her third win of the season.
Zoë Anderson, a freshman, played the entire second half and made three saves, highlighted by a save in the 55th minute on a shot from the six-yard box to keep the Seahawks in front.
The Seahawks will take on Western Carolina (3-3-2) at UNCW Soccer Stadium on Friday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m.
