Three Second-Place Finishes For UNCW

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Three Seahawks posted second-place finishes on the men's side to highlight UNCW's outing on Friday at the South Carolina College Invitational.

Heading up the Seahawk trio of runner-up finishes were Gianmichael D'Alessandro in the 100 Breaststroke, Will Countie in the 200 Backstroke and Connor Forsythe in the 200 Butterfly.

Adding strong swims were Mitch Curlee finishing third in the 200 IM and Brent Hoshall taking third in the 200 Backstroke.

In diving, Courtney Klausen took third in the women's 1-meter and Kolbein Bjugan was fourth in the men's 3-meter board.

The Seahawk men took second in the 400 Medley Relay and third in the 200 Freestyle Relay.

The meet continues Saturday. It's UNCW's final meet of the season before heading to Christiansburg, Va., in February for the Colonial Athletic Association championships.
