MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The Seahawks visit Memphis this weekend, beginning on Friday, when the two programs play a non-conference series at FedEXPark.
UNCW enters the series looking to get back in the win column after seeing its season-high four-game winning streak halted on Wednesday by 10th-ranked North Carolina. The Tar Heels were able to push a run across in the top of the seventh to take a 5-4 lead before adding two in the eighth and four more in the ninth to make an 11-4 final.
Memphis (8-7), meanwhile, routed Mississippi Valley State 8-1 on Tuesday. The Tigers held the Delta Devils to two hits and a run while scoring the last eight runs of the contest.
This weekend's series will be the first meeting between the two programs, but the Seahawks have played East Carolina and Tulane, who are also members of the American Athletic Conference.
