Cosgrove, D'Alessandro Close Out US Open Appearances

ATLANTA, Ga. – UNCW's Jack Cosgrove and Gianmichael D'Alessandro closed out their appearances at the Toyota US Open Championships with a pair of strong showings in their heats at the McAuley Aquatic Center on Friday.

Cosgrove finished second in his heat of the 100-meter Backstroke with a time of 58.38 seconds. He finished 78th overall. D'Alessandro, meanwhile, was fourth in his heat of the 100-meter Breaststroke with a time of 1:04.30. His time ranked 54th overall.

Former Seahawk swimming standout Michael Baric swam in the 100-meter Backstroke and finished 63rd overall with a time of 57.89. Baric, along with current UNCW assistant Valtteri Halonen, held UNCW's 100-yard backstroke record of 48 seconds until last month when senior Will Countie took ownership of the record with a time of 47.42 at the Patriot Invitational.
