Cosgrove Wins 50-Free Heat

ATLANTA, Ga. – UNCW senior sprinter Jack Cosgrove won his heat in the 50-meter freestyle on Thursday at the 2019 Toyota U.S. Open Championships.

In the 50-meter freestyle prelims, Cosgrove finished tied for 90th overall with a time of 23.68 seconds while Gianmichael D'Alessandro, a junior, was fifth in the heat after touching the wall in a time of 24.17.

Both will continue their competition at the championships on Friday when Cosgrove swims in the 100-meter Backstroke and D'Alessandro swims in the 100-meter Breaststroke.
