Seahawk Men Dominate In Win Over ODU

WILMINGTON, N.C. – In a dominant day for the UNCW men, the Seahawks topped visiting Old Dominion, 226.5-71.5, while the Monarchs gained a split of the day's competition with a 169.5-130.5 win on Saturday at the Seahawk Natatorium.

UNCW's men program evened its record at 1-1 with the win while the women dipped to 0-2 on the young season. ODU, meanwhile, moved to 1-1 on the women's side and 0-2 on the men's.

The Seahawk men captured all but one event. Among the multiple event winners were Aidan Snively (500 and 1000 Free), Josh Rigsbee (100 Breast and 200 Breast), Sean Cannon (50 and 100 Free) and diver Kolbein Bjugan (1 and 3-meter boards).

Junior Evan Arsenault won both the 50 and 100 Free while freshman Courtney Klausen swept the 1 and 3-meter boards. Klausen set another UNCW freshman record with 269.60 points in the 3-meters. In her collegiate debut against Tennessee, she broke the mark in the 1-meter.

UNCW men swept the relays and the women won the 200 Free Relay.

The Seahawks visit East Carolina on Oct. 25 for a 5 p.m. start.
