Women's Basketball Preview: Drexel

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania – The UNCW women's basketball team looks to get back to its winning ways on Sunday afternoon when the Seahawks complete a Colonial Athletic Association weekend road trip with a visit to Drexel.
 
Opening tip-off between the Seahawks and the Dragons is set for 2 p.m. from the Daskalakis Athletic Center. Live video coverage can be found at CAA.tv while live stats will be available at UNCWStats.com.
 
UNCW, 11-6 overall and 4-2 in the CAA, saw an end to its three-game win streak on Friday afternoon with a 65-53 setback at Delaware. Redshirt junior guard GiGi Smith paced the Seahawks in the loss, finishing with a team-high 20 points and nine rebounds.
 
Redshirt senior guard Shrita Parker continues to lead the Seahawks in scoring by averaging 18.1 points per game and has reached double figures in seven straight games after a 10-point effort against the Blue Hens on Friday.
 
Drexel brings a four-game win streak into Sunday's matinee after dispatching Charleston by a 76-53 count on Friday evening. The Dragons, 12-5 overall and 4-2 in the CAA, have won four straight games after opening league play with back-to-back losses against CAA co-leaders Towson and James Madison.
 
Junior forward Bailey Greenberg paced the Dragons on Friday night with 18 points, making 7-of-11 field goal attempts and all four of her free throws. Freshman guard Maura Hendrixson added a 5-for-6 showing from three-point range en route to a 15-point effort while junior guard Aubree Brown chipped in 14 points.  
 
Greenberg leads the Dragons offensively with 16.7 points per game, a mark that ranks fifth in the CAA. She is also 11th in the CAA with a .426 field goal percentage.
Sunday's Starting Five 
No Brotherly Love – Drexel leads the all-time series by a 23-8 margin and has won the last 14 encounters against the Seahawks.    
 
7th Heaven – Redshirt senior guard Shrita Parker has scored in double figures in each of the last seven games, averaging 18.0 points per contest during that span.    
Helping Hands – UNCW has registered 28 assists on 49 made field goals over the last two games, including a 15-assist showing at Delaware on Friday.    
 
High Five – The Seahawks have posted a 20-point scorer in each of the last five games after redshirt junior guard GiGi Smith's 20-point effort at Delaware. It is the longest such streak for the Seahawks over the last 20 seasons.       
 
Seeing Double – UNCW has scored in double figures in each of the last 15 quarters, including six periods with 20 or more points.
Up Next: UNCW begins a season-long four-game homestand next weekend when the Seahawks welcome Hofstra and Northeastern to Trask Coliseum.
