Rigsbee, Cahan Pace UNCW At South Carolina Collegiate

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Sophomore Josh Rigsbee and junior Noah Cahan posted third place finishes in the 200 Breaststroke and 200 Butterfly, respectively, as both UNCW swimming and diving programs closed out their regular season on Saturday at the South Carolina Collegiate Invitational.

Both programs knocked off Wingate, but suffered losses to South Carolina and Queens University of Charlotte. The women fell to 5-7 in dual meets this season while the men dipped to 5-4.

Rigsbee added a fourth-place finish in the 100 Breaststroke on Friday and swam on the Seahawks' 400 Medley Relay, which placed third. Joining him on that relay were Jack Cosgrove, Cahan and Sean Cannon.

Taylor Darling and Lacy Phillips paced the women with fourth-place finishes in the 400 IM and 500 Free.

The women's 400 Free Relay of Annie Shirk, Faith Pilcher, Megan Lahr and Evan Arsenault finished fourth.

The Seahawks begin their preparations now for the upcoming Colonial Athletic Association Championships beginning on Feb. 20, in Christiansburg, Va.
