- UNCW brings a 6-2-0 overall record into Thursday's tilt after dropping a 1-0 overtime decision at Northeastern on Sunday afternoon in its CAA opener. It marked the first time the Seahawks were held without a goal this season.
- William & Mary, meanwhile, has authored a 4-6-0 overall record with a 1-1-0 mark against league opponents after securing a 1-0 victory at Towson on Sunday afternoon.
- UNCW has allowed the fewest goals in the CAA with eight goals in eight contests. Senior goalkeeper Caitie Broderick has authored a 1.00 goals against average, which ranks third in the CAA.
