WILMINGTON, N.C. – Sophomore Blake McShea and UNCW fought through cold, damp and windy conditions on Sunday to take the individual and team leads through two rounds at the ninth annual Seahawk Intercollegiate at the Country Club of Landfall.

The Seahawks, who carded a nine-under-par 279 in the second round to take the lead, hold a seven-stroke lead on Michigan State for the team lead. Third-place Campbell is eight strokes off the pace.

McShea, meanwhile, owns a one-stroke lead on Campbell's Brett McLamb entering Monday's final round.  UNCW teammate, senior, Patrick Cover posted a six-under-par in round two to move into a tie for third. Cover's 66 matched his season-low and was two strokes off the tournament record.

Cover shaved 10 strokes off his opening round 76 by tying for the tournament lead in par 3 scoring (2.63) and converting 10 birdie opportunities.

Rounding out the Seahawks in the top 10 is freshman Christofer Rahm, who is tied for seventh.

The tournament concludes on Monday with the final round teeing off at 9 a.m. in a shotgun format. UNCW is paired with Michigan State and Campbell for the final 18 holes.
