Women's Basketball Preview: James Madison

HARRISONBURG, Virginia – The UNCW women's basketball team aims to earn a sweep of its Colonial Athletic Association weekend slate on Sunday afternoon when the Seahawks venture to James Madison for a 2 p.m. matinee against the league-leading Dukes.

UNCW and James Madison both claimed a victory in their most recent outings on Friday night. The Seahawks, who are 9-16 overall and 2-12 in the CAA, overcame an 11-point deficit to secure a 64-49 triumph at William & Mary. James Madison, meanwhile, held its position at the top of the CAA standings following a 56-53 win at Delaware.     
 
Five Things to Know
  1. James Madison leads the all-time series by a 62-9 margin and has won the last 16 games against the Seahawks, including a 63-48 triumph in Wilmington on Jan. 21.
  2. UNCW redshirt senior forward Jenny DeGraaf recorded her fourth double-double of the season in Friday's win at William & Mary with 17 points and a career-high 16 rebounds.
  3. Sophomore guard Lacey Suggs leads the Seahawks with 17 double-digit scoring efforts after finishing Friday's win with 12 points off the bench.
  4. The Seahawks registered a season-high 55 rebounds in Friday's win over the Tribe, marking the most rebounds by UNCW since Jan. 18, 2007 against Georgia State.
  5. Junior guard Logan Reynolds dished out a career-high nine assists for James Madison in Friday's win over Delaware as the Dukes won their third straight game.
Up Next: UNCW completes its regular season road schedule on Friday, Feb. 23, at the College of Charleston with an 11:30 a.m. tilt against the Cougars. Charleston defeated UNCW, 72-63, in the first meeting between the two teams on Feb. 9.
