WILMINGTON, North Carolina -  The UNCW men's basketball team continues its NBA-style schedule on Thursday when Elon visits Trask Coliseum for a Colonial Athletic Association rematch with the Seahawks.

The Seahawks (8-18, 5-9 CAA) are playing the middle leg in a stretch of three games in five days. Elon (14-12, 6-7) returns to the court after falling to Hofstra seven days ago at Alumni Gym.

UNCW and Elon tip off at 7 p.m. at Trask Coliseum. Live Seahawk Digital Network (SDN) coverage of the UNCW-Elon contest begins at 6:45 p.m. with Mike Vaccaro, the "Voice of the Seahawks," and Marty Feurer on the call. Visit UNCWsports.com/SDN for live audio coverage. In addition, a radio broadcast of the game may be heard on "The Ticket" 95.9 FM and WKXB (99.9 FM-HD3).

The Seahawks will be looking to bounce back from a narrow 62-61 loss on Tuesday night at James Madison. The Dukes rallied from a five-point halftime deficit and survived a late charge by the Seahawks to gain a split of the regular season series. The two tightly-contested games between UNCW and JMU this season were decided by a total of four points.

Thursday marks the 19th meeting between the UNCW and Elon, but just the eighth as CAA opponents. UNCW owns a slim 10-8 advantage in the series, but has taken five of the last seven matchups between the two teams since Elon joined the CAA in 2014-15.

In the last game played between the two teams early last month, Seahawk senior forward Marcus Bryan scored in traffic with 23.4 seconds left in overtime – his only basket of the game – to lift UNCW to an 80-78 overtime decision in the final appearance for the Seahawks at cozy Alumni Gym. It was the first career road victory and first CAA road win for new Seahawk skipper C.B. McGrath.

The Seahawks have not lost to the Phoenix in six meetings at Trask Coliseum. In last year's installment of the series in Wilmington, UNCW scored a school-record 23 consecutive points to build an early cushion and cruised to a 79-63 victory over Elon on Jan. 2, 2017, in the CAA home opener for the Seahawks. Senior guard Chris Flemmings and sophomore guard C.J. Bryce led the Seahawks offensively with 19 points apiece. Senior guard Denzel Ingram added 17 points and Bryce recorded his first career double-double with 11 rebounds for the Seahawks.

Elon, 4-9 in true road games and 2-4 in CAA roadies, has not played since a 67-48 home loss to Hofstra last Thursday. Junior forward Tyler Seibring, a Preseason All-CAA pick, averages 15.3 points and 6.6 rebounds for the Phoenix, who average 74.8 points each contest. The Seahawks are facing Seibring for the sixth time. He has averaged 15.8 points and 6.0 rebounds in five games against UNCW during his career.

Junior forward Devontae Cacok of UNCW is one of a handful of players the NCAA Division I ranks averaging a double-double. The Riverdale, Ga., product is collecting 17.4 points per game and remains the nation's leading rebounder at 13.2 rebounds each time on the court. He is shooting 58.6 percent from the floor and has snared a CAA-best 121 offensive rebounds to his credit.

Thursday's contest is the finale of eight games vs. North Carolina opponents for the Seahawks this season. The Seahawks stand 4-3 vs state foes. UNCW has played Campbell, Davidson, East Carolina, Elon, Greensboro, UNC Greensboro and N.C. Wesleyan. UNCW owns a 227-230 (.497) record against 31 opponents from the state of North Carolina through the years.

Following the battle with Elon, the Seahawks conclude their regular season home schedule by entertaining Charleston on Saturday at 7 p.m. UNCW then finishes out the season on the road at William & Mary and Drexel.
