Seahawks Rise In SMC Invite Standings

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – Led by Reese McFarlane career-low tying round of 68, UNCW moved into 11th overall on Tuesday at the Saint Mary's Invitational at the Poppy Hills Golf Club in Pebble Beach

BYU continued to lead the tournament and grew its lead to 14 strokes over Pepperdine. Arizona, Southern Cal and Oregon round out the top five. The Seahawks rose two spots in the standings on Tuesday and are tied for 11th entering the final round.

Peter Kuest of BYU, who shot 10-under on Monday, leads the field by seven strokes. Oregon's Craig Ronne carded a five-under-par 66 on Tuesday to move in to second.

McFarlane rebounded from a tough first round to shoot three-under and post a 68 on Tuesday.

UNCW shaved 12 strokes off its score from Monday to move into a tie with Utah for 11th.

Segundo Oliva Pinto, who shot an even par 71, leads the Seahawks in the standings, tied for 23rd overall.

The Seahawks close out their final tournament of the fall on Wednesday with a 7:32 a.m. PST tee time alongside Utah.
