Bowden Steps Down From Men's Golf Position

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Daniel Bowden has stepped down as head coach of the UNCW men's golf program after guiding the Seahawks for the past seven seasons.

"We want to thank Daniel for everything he has done for the Men's Golf program over the last seven years," said UNCW Director of Athletics Michael Oblinger. "He led this team to new heights, and we wish him the best."

During his tenure with the Seahawks, UNCW won three Coastal Athletic Association tournament championships and competed in the NCAA Regionals on four occasions, including 2021 when the Seahawks earned an at-large berth to the Noblesville Regional.

Bowden, a three-time CAA Coach of the Year winner, produced a pair of CAA Player of the Year honorees in Blake McShea (2021) and Walker Isley (2024). Segundo Olivia Pinto was tabbed the league's Rookie of the Year in 2019. UNCW compiled 15 All-CAA players, including nine first-teamers. In 2023, UNCW landed its entire lineup on the all-conference teams, with McShea and Chris Rahm garnering first-team honors.

The search for a new head coach is underway.
