Women's Soccer Preview: Charleston

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Coach Chris Neal and the UNCW women's soccer team make their final road trip of the regular season on Thursday night as the Seahawks venture to Patriots Point for a 7 p.m. Colonial Athletic Association contest against the College of Charleston.
 
As the final week of the regular season approaches, Thursday's contest will be critical for both teams. Charleston, 9-6-1 overall, currently sits in fourth place in the league standings with a 4-2-1 mark while UNCW (8-5-0 overall) is tied with Delaware for seventh at 2-4-0.
 
Five Things to Know
  1. Six of the Seahawks' last seven games have been decided by a one-goal margin.
  2. Sophomore Marissa Vincent netted her third goal of the season in Sunday's loss against Delaware. All three of her goals have come in the last five contests.
  3. The Seahawks have outscored their opponents by a 12-4 margin in the first half this season.
  4. UNCW ranks second in the CAA with 26 goals in 13 games this season while Charleston is tied for third with 25 goals in 16 outings.
  5. UNCW leads the all-time series against Charleston by a 9-3-2 margin and holds a 2-0-1 mark in the last three encounters following a 1-0 win last year in Wilmington.  
Up Next: The Seahawks return home on Sunday, Oct. 21, for a 2 p.m. CAA contest against Towson. UNCW will honor four players as part of Senior Day festivities prior to kick-off.
