Aquahawks Close Out Dual Meet Season

UNCW now begins preparations for CAA Championships

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Four Seahawks posted top-five finishes as UNCW closed out its final appearance before next month's Colonial Athletic Association Championships on Saturday at the South Carolina Invitational.

Juniors Kyra Schemmel and Meagan Johnson recorded third-place finishes in the 1650 Freestyle and 200 Breaststroke, respectively.

On the men's side, Connor Forsythe, a sophomore, and George Vlahos, a junior, finished fourth in the 100 Butterfly and fifth in the 400 IM, respectively.

The Seahawks swept Wingate in both meets, but posted losses against Queens and host South Carolina.

UNCW now begins preparations for the CAA Championships. The meet opens Feb. 14 and will be held at the Christiansburg Aquatics Center in Christiansburg, Va.
