Swimming Preview: at Gardner-Webb

CAA Championship tickets now on sale through CAA Office

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW visits Gardner-Webb this Saturday in its second to last meet of the season with the Colonial Athletic Association championships looming in February.

The Seahawks closed out their home schedule with a sweep of Davidson as the women upped their record to 6-4 and the men to 4-3.

UNCW visits Columbia, S.C., next weekend in its final tune up for the CAA Championships. The Seahawks will compete against Wingate, Queens and host South Carolina in the South Carolina Invitational. The meet opens on Jan. 26 and concludes the following day.

FIVE THINGS TO KNOW
  1. Junior Adyson Lowe was named CAA Diver of the Week for a third time this season after posting a pair of NCAA Zone qualifying scores against Davidson
  2. Kyra Schemmel continued her strong swimming with three event wins against Davidson, taking first in the 200 IM and the 500 and 1000 Freestyles
  3. Sean Cannon was joined by Connor Forsythe and Josh Rigsbee as multi-event winners last weekend for the Seahawks
  4. UNCW swept a pair of meets against Gardner-Webb at the Seahawk Natatorium
  5. The CAA championships open on Feb. 14 in Christiansburg, Va. Tickets for the championships can be purchased through the CAA Office here
