WILMINGTON, North Carolina – After earning a 3-0 win in its lone exhibition contest, the UNCW women's soccer team begins the 2017 regular season this weekend with a pair of non-conference home games at UNCW Soccer Stadium.
The Seahawks welcome No. 11 Virginia to the Port City on Friday, Aug, 18, for a 7 p.m. contest before hosting Dayton at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 20.
Tickets for each of this weekend's games, which are priced at $7 for adults and $2 for kids 15 and under, can be purchased through the UNCW Ticket Office at 800-808-UNCW or by visiting the
Tickets page at UNCWSports.com. In addition, tickets can be purchased at the game beginning one hour prior to kickoff.

Five Things to Know
- UNCW is 11-11-1 in its previous season openers and will be starting the regular season at home for the first time since 2010.
- The Seahawks have led the Colonial Athletic Association in assists and points in each of the last two seasons. UNCW led the league in goals in 2015 before finishing second in goals scored last year.
- Dayton is one of two first-time regular season opponents for the Seahawks, who also square off with North Carolina for the first time on Sept. 3.
- Virginia is one of three ACC opponents the Seahawks are scheduled to face in the regular season. UNCW visits Duke on Sept. 1, before taking on North Carolina in Durham on Sept. 3.
- Senior forward Serenity Waters begins the season in 11th place on the Seahawks' all-time scoring list with 42 career points. The Sharpsburg, Ga., product has scored 17 goals with 8 assists.
