SUNSET, South Carolina – The UNCW women's golf team had three players post a five-over-par 77 in the final round as the Seahawks closed out play at the Clemson Invitational in 15th place at The Reserve at Lake Keowee on Sunday afternoon.
The Seahawks posted a 311 team score in the final round to close out the tournament with a three-round total of 914. Florida State won the team title after carding a 285 team score in the final round to finish two strokes ahead of Furman.
Juniors
Lyberty Anderson and
Kayla Thompson each posted a 77 in the final round along with freshman
Thao My Nguyen. Anderson finished the tournament in a tie for 56th place while Nguyen claimed a piece of 71st place. Thompson earned a tie of 82nd place with junior
Alaina Yeatts, who ended the weekend with an 83.
Sophomore
Ellinoora Moisio finished in a tie for 67th place after completing the tournament with an 80 in the third round.
The Seahawks will be idle until the Colonial Athletic Association Championship in Williamsburg, Va., on Apr. 14-16.
